Hello English teachers!
Today I'm going to present a new resource for working the listening skill. We are going to use the web page Lyrics Training.
This activity has been designed for the whole class of 1st or 2nd of Primary Education. This activity is going to work in two sessions, but it could depend on the children.
The aims are:
- Practice the English Skill: Listening
- Introduce new vocabulary.
We are going to introduce the months of the year to our students, so this is why we are going to present a song, The months' song, which will help to remember the words in English. Songs are useful to develop vocabulary, so we pretend to improve the pronunciation and spelling of these English words.
First, all together we will try to discover how can we say the months in English. Then, we will try to put all the months in order, to have all the years with all the months correct. As they never have been working on that, we are going to present the next song:
After working on it and singing altogether, we are going to play with the web lyrics training. Each child will have one computer and with the principiant mode, they will complete the different gabs of the song that the web requires. They only need to click on the link and start to play!

I didn´t know the web lyricstraining, I believe that is a magnific resource for working the listening in class because the songs are a good way to learn English. Thanks to this the students can learn new vocabulary and also work on other abilities like speaking.

Hello Georgina. First of all congratulations for your blog, I went through all the activities and I realli like them. Something I want to highlight is that I think you explain all tha ctivities very clear, with the aims and giving details about how to work on it, and also you orientate and guide very nicely how to use the blog and who it is for, what Ithink is very helpful. I really like this listening activity, it really encourages students to practise pronunciation in a fun way, singing and it grabs the attention with images, rythm and sound. It is pedagogically accurate and easy to learn. Congrats!
